The international MTB-O event "Briedis 2010"

Competitions

Mountainbike-orienteering competitions, middle, long and middle distances. First and second days are the World ranking events. Third day is a chasing start competition according to the overall time of the first two days.

Programme

13th of August, 2010
13.30–15.00 Arival and registration at the competition centre in Ievalaukis;
16.30 First start of middle distance race, WRE, in Palûðë. Start and finish are 6 km away from the competiton centre;
20.00 Award ceremony at the competition center.

14th of August, 2010
11.00 First start of long distance race, WRE, in Ievalaukis;
20.00 Award ceremony at the competition center;
20.30 Party at the competition centre.

15th of August, 2010
11.00 First start of middle distance race in Ievalaukis. Start is 6 km away from the finish area and competition center;
14.00 Award ceremony at the competition center.

Preliminary information about maps

All maps are made according to the international MTB-O mapping standards in 2009/2010. 3 new maps will be used: Palûðë (2010.08.13, scale 1:15000), Jonalaukis (2010.08.14, scale 1:15000), Dringis-Jonalaukis (2010.08.15, scale 1:20000). Contour interval 5 m. All maps are within the riding-distance from the competition centre.
Interesting: On Sunday, the third day, competitors will do their course around the lake Dringis, starting in Vaiðniûnai village, finishing in Jonalaukis.

Start interval 2 min. Preliminary winning times:
H21E – 50min
D21E – 45min
H – 45min
D – 40min

14th of August, 2010, long WRE:
Start interval 2 min. Preliminary winning times:
H21E – 110min
D21E – 80min

15th of August, 2010, middle:
Chasing start order according to the overall time after 2 days. Preliminary winning times:

Entry fees

Entry fee is 60 LT (20LT/day),
30 LT (10LT/day) for youth who are born untill 1992 and masters born untill 1950.
SI rental fee is 3 LT/day.

Awards

After each day I-III places are awarded with diploma. The overall I-III places are awarded with diploma and prizes. The elite overall I-III places are awarded with diplomas and monetary prizes:
H/D21E I – 800 LT
H/D21E II – 500 LT
H/D21E III – 300 LT

Accomodation:

At the ecologic rural resort „Ievalaukis“ (www.jonalaukis.lt)
2 nights/person in single or double rooms is 80 LT; 1 tent/day is 20 LT.
Full board meals – 40 LT/person/day
It is as well possible to get breakfast(10 LT)/ lunch(15 LT)/ dinner(15 LT) separately.
For the others it will be also possible to order meals from the other meniu.

The area:

Competitions are held in the oldest national park in Lithuania. There are 126 lakes, 1/3 of the park is covered with forests. The area is a beloved holiday destination for active leisure (cayaking, camping, cycling, sightseeing). More about the park: www.jonalaukis.lt/en/ignalina-district/251

Safety regulation:

It is obligatory to use helmets. While crossing the roads with a traffic, one should obbey the traffic regulation. While riding in the forest, priority has the rider on a wider road. Overtaking is from the left. When going uphill, one should give a way for the rider going downhill. Possible dangerous places: fallen trees, stones, roots.
Athletes are taking their own responsibilty for their health!
